What does regular maintenance involve?
Pool cleaning, water testing and chemical balancing can form part of an agreed maintenance visit. Depending on the installation and scope, cleaning may include skimming, vacuuming, brushing, basket cleaning and backwashing.
Equipment checks are just as relevant as the appearance of the water. Pumps, filtration and associated equipment need practical attention, and developing concerns should be discussed before further work is agreed. A routine visit does not mean every repair or replacement is included.
Choosing a schedule that suits your pool
Weekly, fortnightly and monthly servicing offer different levels of ongoing attention. The right interval depends on pool usage, the equipment installed, seasonal conditions and the care carried out between visits. A pool that is used frequently may need a different arrangement from one used occasionally.
Tell SPM about your pool and your current routine. We can discuss an appropriate schedule and confirm the visit scope. Chemicals, replacement parts and additional repairs are charged separately; your quotation sets out the work agreed.
Domestic pools and commercial facilities
Private owners often want dependable care that makes looking after their pool more convenient. Schools, hotels and leisure facilities may also need servicing planned around operation, plant room access and maintenance records. Commercial arrangements are quoted individually.
Based in Crawley, SPM provides swimming pool maintenance across Surrey, Sussex and Kent, with selected work in London. George’s 15+ years of hands-on industry experience supports the business’s practical approach to pool care.
When to ask about additional work
Changes in water level, unusual equipment noises, poor circulation or heating problems are reasons to discuss an assessment. These symptoms do not establish a diagnosis. Explain what has changed and provide the equipment make or model if known.
Summer opening and winterisation can also be discussed alongside ongoing care. These are separate services, with requirements agreed for the particular pool rather than a universal checklist.
